- Description: Using a personally designed logo in a matching business card and letterhead.
- Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): I began by creating my logo in adobe illustrator. I used the pen tool to draw out my tree. I used the ellipse tool to make my leaves and the anchor point to make the points on the leaves. Then I used the rotate tool to copy the leaves and I duplicated them to make them consistent. Next, I used the rectangle tool to create the swing. I chose contrasting fonts to add my company name. I used this logo to create my business card and letterhead in Adobe Indesign. I began by using the rulers to create the right size for the business card, then placed my logo on one side of the card, to create visual interest keeping it out of the center. On the other side of the card I took the leaves from my logo to carry over the design principles, added the text left align and then added bars for separation and to keep the eye interested. For my letterhead I also used Indesign. I began by placing my logo. Then I added a bar on the top using colors from the logo at a lower opacity to maintain contrast. I added the camera and put it at 9% opacity. I aligned the informative text with the tree branch and the edge of the camera lens. Then I added the two bars on the bottom to create a fluency between the business card and the letterhead.
- Message: The company wants to portray a fun easy going atmosphere with their photography, through these designs the customer can know they will have a fun experience when they take photos with this company.
- Audience: The audience is geared more towards families, especially with kids, who would need photos taken.
- Top Thing Learned: I learned that indesign and illustrator are very different and take a lot of practice to master. Also, it is so important to carry certain design elements with you throughout the project in order to make things flow.
- Color scheme and color names: Scheme: Analogous Colors used: Green, teal, blue
- Title Font Name & Category: Elbrima Bold, Sans Serif
- Copy Font Name & Category: Javanese Text, Serif

Jessica! You really did a wonderful job on this design. The first thing that I noticed about it is that you used the gestalt principle very well. With all of the leaves, you were able to make a really simple design that makes it become iconic. The tree swing is really simple and has really powerful imagery, because when anyone sees it, they will think of a modern, kind of rustic feel that helps them feel at home. The font also really matches well with the logo and style. You did a great job on this design, Jessica. Keep it up!

Hey Jessica you did awesome! I really like your stationery items. I like how your logo is simple and the overall color scheme looks. I like the camera in the letter head, i almost didn’t notice it but i think that is the point. I really like the color blue you chose and it catches the eye well. I think you did a stellar job!
